By the end of May, a section of Roxborough Avenue in Hamilton will be home to a fully functioning ball hockey rink.
Since 2014, a portion of Roxborough Avenue has been closed to traffic between Graham Avenue North and Province Street North, linking the parking lot at Queen Mary School to Honourable Bob Mackenzie Park.
The City of Hamilton’s Public Works Department is now working with a consultant to design an 35 ft. x 110 ft. ball hockey rink, roughly one-quarter of the size of an NHL hockey rink.
The temporary rink will remain in the area until a permanent rink can be built. The rink will have the ability to convert into an ice hockey rink in the winter.
