What’s old is apparently new again in Burlington.
Hudson’s Bay inside Burlington Centre mall recently launched a Zellers pop-up shop-in-store on the second floor that features a range of products, retail insider is reporting.
Zellers, once a popular Canadian discount retail chain owned by Hudson’s Bay, effectively closed in 2013 due to fierce competition from retail giants such as Walmart.
Many of the Zellers locations in the GTA were converted to Target stores, which also eventually closed.
Hudson’s Bay still owns the rights to the name and hasn’t ruled out further Zellers pop-up stores in the coming months.
The announcement has many nostalgic Zellers shoppers excited.
“Very cool,” Tatiana Blazic said Sunday (Sept. 26).
“Exciting news,” Clara Frank added.
