Friends, we made it! Last week’s snowstorm is behind us, although the cold temps are here to stay, but don’t let that get in the way, as this weekend is just about to start, and with it are new things to do and places to see. So, check out our latest community round up and start planning what you’re going to do this weekend. See you out and about this weekend!
Burlington
For music lovers and concert fanatics, the Burlington Performing Arts Centre has you covered this weekend. Rock out on Saturday, January 26th with I Mother Earth and Finger 11 as they take the stage to perform individually and together. Wind down on Sunday, January 27th with something a little more classical as The Mozart Effect Live takes over the Burlington PAC.
Have you tried Sunshine Doughnuts in Burlington yet? If not, vite vite, these are hands down the best doughnuts in Burlington, but don’t take my word for it, go there and try one, or more, for yourself. If doughnuts aren’t your thing, then walk to the downtown core and grab some pizza, and an order of garlic knots (thank me later), from Son of a Peach Pizzeria. Now that’s some good eats!
Hamilton
The rumours are true. Starting Family Day, Monday February 18th, you can present your HPL library card to the City of Hamilton Civic Museums and receive free admission. (Each person/child must have their own library card to present at admission time.) So, head to your local library on Saturday and sign up for a library card. You know what they say; “having fun isn’t hard, when you’ve got a library card.” Make a morning out of it, and visit the Hamilton Farmers’ Market for local eats and sweet treats.
Hungry? Good! It’s Winter Eats in Hamilton – a celebration of all things culinary – beginning today until February 10th at The French, Aberdeen Tavern and The Diplomat! Enjoy a 3-course prix fixe lunch for $20 or dinner for $35.
Waterdown
Spend an afternoon strolling along Main Street in Waterdown and do a bit of shopping. Stop by the local bookstore, check out a couple of clothing stores, and then grab a bite and a cappuccino at the Copper Kettle Café.
