Sherman Falls
Fairy or Angel Falls are two romantic nicknames for this captivating waterfall that happens to lie on private property. Luckily the owners are happy to let others enjoy the magic of Sherman Falls located along a popular hike route on the Bruce Trail at the western edge of the city.
Escarpment Rail Trail To Albion Falls
This path that leads from downtown Hamilton up above Albion Falls was established in 1993 on an old CN rail line. It’s also part of the Trans Canada trail network. The main route is paved and on a gradual slope, which makes it perfect for families on foot and with bikes. Visitors are asked to stay on marked paths and avoid entering prohibited areas.

Tiffany Falls
The short walk to this expansive cascade waterfall is a beautiful one through a forested trail and over bridges that crisscross a stream. It’s an easy hike from the parking lot on Wilson Street – making it a great spot for kids and families. There’s also a connection to the Bruce Trail if you’re up for a longer hike.
Gage Park Rose Garden
The rose garden is located in the centre of Gage Park. It is filled with 16 hybrid tea varieties and 14 climbing roses. The flowers come in many colours including red, pink, yellow, white and peach. Visit the rose garden mid-summer when the roses are in full bloom.
Sam Lawrence Park
Sam Lawrence Park, situated on the Mountain brow at the top of the Jolley Cut, is one of the jewels in Hamilton’s park system. Its features include a rock garden with perennial flowers, ornamental benches and lighting, walkways (most of which are accessible), wildflowers and prairie grasses, and an extensive system of interpretive signs. The park also offers spectacular, panoramic views of the lower city and the harbour. On clear days, one can see the CN Tower while gazing at the 180-degree panorama view of Hamilton.
