Location: 35 York Blvd, Hamilton and 27 King William St., Hamilton
This fun coffee shop has ten years of experience crafting fair trade, organic coffee. Origins and roast profiles rotate but there’s always a light, medium, and dark roast available.
Try This! Fall in love with black coffee with a taste of the light roast from Mexico, gentle on the palate with notes of brown sugar, cocoa, and alsmond.
Saint James Espresso Bar & Eatery
Location: 170 James St. N. Hamilton
An Instagram star! The food is perfectly plated, the natural light beams through, and the coffee is crafted with love. Watching your coffee made in their unique steampunk machines is worth the visit alone. Sabour a cup at the communical table and enjoy people-watching on James Street.
Try This! Order the Macchiato, a double shot espresso with a touch of milk foam. Macchiato means spotted or stained, the espresso is stained with tasty foam!
Detour Coffee Roasters
Location: 41 King St. W. Dundas
The gorgeous interior makes this Dundas gem a place you’ll want to check out. Detour is one of Canada’s earliest specialty coffee roastes. They travel far to source their bens and roast them fresh to order. They also offer amazing artisan bread, pastries, and jams!
Try This! The popular San Sebastian from Colombia is loaded with notes of yellow plum, grapes and butterscotch. Pair your coffee with a pastry from chef Camilla Wynne or artisan bread from Dear Grain.
Cafe Oranje
Location: 312 King. St. E. Hamilton
This Euro-style house in downtown’s King Stree East serves sourced coffee from local roasters! You can also find light breakfast and lunch, sweets, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options.
Try This! Pair the smokey Caramel Latte with the big Dutch hot pressed sandwich topped with beef croquettes, a fried egg, and gouda cheese on rye.
Mulberry Coffeehouse
Location: 193 James St. N. Hamilton
This location was one of Hamilton’s first independent coffee shops to pick up steam on James Street North. Housed in a historic building with local art on the walls, Mulberry has plenty fo seating, a menu that values local, organic ingredients, and a great drink menu!
Try This! Nutella Latte made with Hewitt’s Dair mil. Pair it with a Hello Dolly with praline pecans, chocolate chips, coconut, and graham cracker base.

This coffee shop and book shop features a clean whit interior, light wood floors, and Italian marble countertop. The vegetarian/vegan menu includes hearty coconut lentil soup, cheese plates, and crunchy mac and cheese. Besides coffee and tea, wines, local craft beef and kombucha are on tap.
Try This! The Golden Tumeric Latte is packed with immune-building turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and local honey.
