September Trends
September is the perfect month to start thinking about and decorating your home for the fall. With cool evenings, warm drinks, and crunchy leaves, you will want your house to feel as cozy and comfortable as possible.
The first day of fall is September 22nd! In preparation for the first day of fall, we have compiled a list of fall decor trends for you to get inspired.
Warm Toned Colours
This year, warmer tones are seeing a lot of attention. Colours such as amber, terracotta, and brown are adding more of a handmade, cozier feel to homes. One idea to incorporate this trend is to paint an accent wall in a warm shade. This will make a huge difference and it will take less than a gallon of paint to do!
You may also use colours like deep ruby reds and earthy crimson to make a bold yet cozy statement in your home. These warm-toned colours pair well with natural materials like wood, stone, clay, and natural fabrics.
Vintage Gems
Accessories this season are looking a lot more worn, thrifted, and vintage. Antique side tables, vintage throw pillows, and thrifted art prints are very popular for this fall season. When decorating this fall, think of bold earthy tones, bold patterns, and rugged looks.
Decorating with vintage pieces is a great way to evoke an autumnal mood, with darker woods and distressed finishes playing into a more rugged look. Add reclaimed pieces to bring in warmth and character to your space, making your home feel cozy. Decorating with vintage and thrifted items adds character and intrigue, giving warmth and visual interest to guests.
Fall Florals
Dried floral accents are trendy this fall season. You can add a few dried pampas grass stems to a large vase to add some texture to any room. You can even create a dried floral wreath for your front door. Dried stems are also perfect for fall because they tend to have a more muted colour to them which can coordinate with any seasonal decor.
Choose florals in deep reds, greens, and oranges to make your home instantly feel like fall. You can layer these florals with pumpkins and gourds to make it look extra festive and cozy.
Plush Pumpkins
This fall season, it’s all about the pumpkins, and this year plush pumpkins are in! From rattan pumpkins and woven vases to wood chip gourds and driftwood bits, organic materials are everywhere! To liven up these materials, pair them with plush pumpkins. You can add plush pumpkins to your coffee table, entrance table, couch or chair, and even your bedspread.
Find plush pumpkins in those deep warm tones, and find vintage patterned plush pumpkins or velvety ones! Have fun with this trend.
