Every Sunday evening in July and August, enjoy a memorable musical performance at the band shell on the grounds of Fieldcote Museum. A variety of talented musicians will perform at this free event that starts at 7pm to 9m. Simply bring a blanket and be serenaded on Sunday evenings this summer.
Burlington
Get your motor to the fifth annual Burlington Downtown Car Show taking place on Brant Street in the heart of the city this Saturday. Vehicles of all ages, classes and types will be on display. There will also be live music and interactive displays that are fun for the whole family. The car show runs from 10am – 4pm, and is free to the public.
What if you could travel back in time? What would you see and who would you meet? Royal Botanical Gardens, in association with The Players’ Guild of Hamilton, presents The Spirits of Paradise. Directed by David Dayler, this two-hour moving theatre experience will help you understand how the local landscape has changed over the last two centuries through the eyes of the people who have influenced its history.
Dundas
Explore the amazing nightlife of bats and moths and learn how the experts study them at Creatures of the Night this Friday evening at 8pm . You’ll get to see bat and moth capture equipment in action, listen remotely to bat detectors for bat sounds, see bats on camera, and ask the experts anything about these creatures of the night. Bring a headlamp or flashlight, bug spray, camera and if you want to record bats on your own, bring an iPhone or iPad. Meet at the Dundas Valley Conservation Area Trail Centre. The event goes until dark.
Hamilton
All aboard the fourth annual Hamilton Craft Brew Cruise at the Hamilton Harbour Queen this Saturday for two sailing experiences: one at 2pm, and one at 7pm for a celebration of craft beer! The Craft Brew Cruise takes the traditional craft beer festival experience and puts it on board one of the largest ships in the local harbour. Each sailing will run for a three-hour tour around the harbourfront and you will have access to some of the best local craft brewers and their tasty brews.
Visit Dundurn’s historic Kitchen Garden weekends in summer and learn about the nutritional needs and aesthetic desires of the MacNab family 150 years ago. Enjoy informative stories and historic gardening knowledge conveyed by costumed garden staff. The tour promises to be a pleasure for the mind and the senses. Tours run on Saturdays and Sundays at 12:30pm to 1:30pm and at 2pm to 3pm. Garden tours are included in your museum admission.
