It’s the last weekend of May and the weather looks beautiful! As May comes to an end and we welcome June, let’s take the time to appreciate nature and everything it’s been through this month.
This weekend there are many fun activities that will get you outdoors and soaking up the sun!
Boats in the Park
Location: Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology
Date: May 28 – 29, 10 AM – 4 PM
The Museum is pleased to welcome back the Confederation of Marine Modellers as they demonstrate a variety of radio-controlled model boats in the park. Visitors can check out the boats sailing on our miniature pond, catch a ride on a miniature train provided by the Golden Horseshoe Live Steamers, take a tour of the museum, and create some boat-themed crafts in our hands-on activity area. Light refreshments will be for sale at the “Keefer Café” in the museum gift shop. Come out and celebrate Hamilton’s boat-building history!
Made in Dundas – Family Festival
Location: Dundas Museum
Date: May 28th, 11 AM – 3 PM
Join Dundas Museum for a day filled with crafts, games, face painting, and more! They will be joined by the Dundas Valley School of Art, and the Little Tracks Petting Zoo! The Red Door Cucina will be serving food (with their new wood-fired pizza oven!)

Farmers and Friends
Location: Mountsberg Conservation Area

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a farmer? Enjoy a meet and greet with some of Mountsbergs barnyard friends including goats, rabbits, sheep, and more! Join barn staff and learn about what our farmyard friends eat and how to care for them. Families and kids of any age will love this up close and personal encounter with farmers and their furry friends! Details
Into the Woods Jr

Spring Indigenous Market
Location: Chiefswood Park Cabins

The Spring Indigenous Craft Show & Smoke Dance Competition is a one-day event featuring local Six Nations of the Grand River artists and vendors. In partnership with the Woodland Cultural Centre, Chiefswood Park welcomes guests, visitors, and community members to this first annual event!

Mindful Movement at the Gallery

Thuya Spring Workshop – Statement Arrangement
Location: Art Gallery of Hamilton

Participants will create a focal arrangement from a colourful selection of spring florals. We will be learning flower care, design basics and tips from our Studio to make it stand out in a crowd! The 9th season of the Waterdown Farmers’ Market kicks off with special activities to mark ‘Seeds of the Future’ – the start of the local growing season.
Stock up. Say hello to vendors eager to share seedlings and advice that will help you get your gardens started. The Flamborough Horticultural Society will also be there, sharing cuttings and perennial splittings as part of their Annual Spring Plant Sale. It’s the perfect opportunity to get growing tips from the experts – farmers and gardeners. Details
